Youngsoul. Full EP on Vinyl
YOUNGSOUL — AL RAFAEL and HALO HEAD.
The Light Remembers
This is the Vinyl version, which has all three main tracks, as well as the YoungSoul Cinematic Instrumental on the B-Side.
YoungSoul is an intimate and deeply heartfelt EP from Al Rafael and Halo Head exploring innocence, parenthood, hope and the extraordinary light that younger souls can bring into a complicated adult world.
Where Sinner to Saint searched for redemption and Halo Head discovered love, YoungSoul looks at something quieter:
The people who remind us why any of it matters.
Built around the songs “YoungSoul,” “North Star” and “Miracle,” the EP trades some of Al Rafael's larger cinematic chaos for warmth, vulnerability and reflection, while retaining the alternative-rock heart that runs throughout his music, as he puts the focus on his own Daughter, the track YoungSoul in particular, acting almost as a letter to a future version of her.
At its centre is the idea that growing older doesn't necessarily mean leaving the person we once were behind.
Sometimes that younger soul is still there.
Sometimes we see it reflected in our children.
Sometimes another person becomes our North Star when we've forgotten which direction we're travelling.
And sometimes, after everything life has thrown at us, simply having someone beside us feels like a Miracle.
There is a tenderness to YoungSoul that deliberately sets it apart from Al Rafael's larger releases. These aren't songs about having everything figured out. They're about protecting what matters, holding onto hope and recognising those small pieces of light that somehow survive even our darkest chapters.
Because adulthood can make the world complicated.
Love can make it terrifying.
Life can leave scars.
But somewhere underneath all of it...
the light remembers.
YOUNGSOUL — The Light Remembers
Three songs.
Three pieces of a heart.
One little reminder that some things are worth believing in.
